Your day begins with a visit to Raptor Domain, home to the thrilling and educational Free Flight Birds of Prey Presentation. This unique experience is the only free flight Birds of Prey display in South Australia and is often described as the most interactive in the country.
Continue on to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, South Australia’s only commercial eucalyptus oil distillery, where you will enjoy a two-course lunch. Afterwards, learn about the history of the distillery during an introductory talk and guided tour. There is also the option to taste Kangaroo Island Ciders’ Colony Cove range, including Apple Sparkler and Cider (additional cost). Before leaving, browse the souvenir shop, which stocks a wide variety of eucalyptus products.
Next, visit Clifford’s Honey Farm for a guided tour of the honey room. Discover how honey is extracted, try a honey soft drink, and if you wish, sample the Drunken Drone Brewery’s Honey Wheat Ale. In the farm gate shop, watch a working beehive in action and see if you can spot the Queen bee. You will also find different varieties of pure Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey, beauty products, and the farm’s well-known honey ice cream.
The tour then takes you to Pennington Bay, a stunning beach on the island’s south coast, perfect for a photo stop. Your final visit is to the wonderful False Cape Wines Cellar Door on the picturesque Dudley Peninsula. Enjoy a structured tasting of their premium wines while soaking up the scenic views. The tour concludes at the Penneshaw Pub, where you will have free time for dinner (own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for your ferry and coach journey back to Adelaide.
